Sam and Leticia Dunning, Sam’s sister Lucy and Leticia’s mum Tina and her partner Joe say they can’t wait for your family to meet theirs.
Their family establishment at West Beach, Oceanique, prides itself on family, a special brand of top-notch, unhurried hospitality and tasty dishes which combine to offer the perfect destination for a Sunday brunch overlooking the ocean.
The couple, who previously ran the iconic The Store in North Adelaide and thus know a thing or two about fresh, local produce, offer a morning menu brimming with everything from mouth-watering pancake stacks, good old bacon and eggs and ham, cheese and tomato croissants, to a smorgasbord of delights such as smashed avocado, salmon bagels and the best BLAT (that’s bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato on fresh Turkish bread) on the beachfront, all to be enjoyed indoors or out on what’s widely regarded as the largest seafront balcony in all of Adelaide.
Then there’s the view, with the nautically themed restaurant literally a few short steps from the beach and its gently lapping waves and safe swimming. You might choose to take an invigorating late morning swim or chill with a lazy stroll along the sheltered beach – chances are high you’ll see pods of playful dolphins frolicking just offshore – while contemplating your next move.
You might consider a dose of culture at Mrs Harris’ Shop art gallery in nearby Torrensville or you could do what so many locals do – come for breakfast/brunch and stay for the day, enjoying a lunch and dinner menu partial to fresh seafood while the melodic strains of live instrumental music drift in the gentle sea breeze.
An interesting selection of craft beers and some great wines from nearby boutique vineyards complete the picture of bliss.
