Getting Around Adelaide
Bus | Tram | Bike
Adelaide’s beaches are accessible by various means of transport. By car or taxi, they are a 10-20 minute journey from the airport.
Car: Adelaide is easy to get around by car with excellent roads and some peak hour congestion. You can rent a car from one of the many hire car companies located at the airport or along the coastline.
Taxi: A twenty minute cab ride from the Airport Taxi Rank costs about $35 depending on the time of day.
Tram: The famous “Bay Tram” runs regularly from the heart of Adelaide’s CBD right into Glenelg beach and takes 45 minutes. For more information call Adelaide Metro on 1300 311 108 or visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au
Bike: Adelaide roads are mostly flat and easy to get around on a bike. Adelaide City Bikes are free to hire from the city centre and the Mike Turtur Bikeway goes all the way from the city to Glenelg beach.
