Pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of the many reserves along Adelaide’s Beaches. Many have shaded areas, nature playgrounds, BBQ’s and other great facilities for everyone.

Point Malcolm Reserve

Situated at Semaphore, this reserve is 100 meters walking distance to the beach with easy parking and plenty of fun family things to do.

It includes basketball 3 on 3, BBQ’s, beach showers, picnic tables, a nature playground including a giant slide and flying fox, public and community art, lots of seating, shaded areas, tennis courts and toilets.

Collins Reserve

Collins Reserve is on Barbara Street in Fulham Gardens. It has many facilities for adults and kids of all ages.

Facilities include picnic areas, BBQs, shaded play areas, fully fenced play areas, shops nearby and it is wheelchair friendly.

Glenelg Foreshore Reserve

Situated at Moseley Square, between Glenelg Beach and Glenelg Town Hall. This reserve is a great mixture of beach surrounds, fun for young and old kids.

Highlights include water play area into the sand, huge metal slide, in-ground mini trampolines, climbing frames, water fountains, grassed areas and nearby cafes, beach, seating and toilets!

Angus Neill Reserve

Located opposite the tranquil beach that runs between Seacliff and Brighton, Angus Neill Reserve includes a large shaded playground for kids to play on, including swings, slippery dip and a wobbly bridge. There’s plenty of parking available around the park and it is very well-maintained. Some of the perks include:

  • Two undercover BBQ areas
  • Toilet facilities including baby change facilities
  • Large grass area suitable for kicking the ball, game a cricket, running around

John Miller Reserve

This reserve is on the Esplanade, opposite Somerton Beach and is a fantastic park for several reasons.  There is great play equipment in a fenced area for the kids, gym equipment for adults all in front of a stunning view over the beach.

Other features are the basketball ring, BBQ and toilets, so it's a great day out with the family for a picinic. 

Kingston Park Coastal Reserve

On Burnham Road in Kingston Park, this lovely little park is on the beachfront with plenty of grass and shade to set up a picnic. There are tennis courts, play equipment, toilets and BBQ facilities.

Colley Reserve

Siuated on Colleys Terrace in Glenelg, this green stretch of lawn makes a great picnic location right in front of the Beachouse and adjacent to Glenelg Beach.

Semaphore Foreshore Reserve

There is plenty here to do and see. Playgrounds with plenty of shade, grassed areas for picnics, adjacent to beach and jetty. There are also public toilets and BBQ's. Easy walking, pram and wheelchair accessible paths along the beach and close to the cafe precinct. There is also mini golf, a vintage carousel and a waterslide.
